Ojai Valley Lions Club Calendar 2022

UPCOMING LIONS CLUB EVENTS and Volunteering Opportunities:

Meetings are held the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month at 6:30pm at the Oak  View Community Center located at 18 Valley Rd. Oak View, CA 93022.    Children welcome. Come to a meeting and check out us. Free dinner for your first visit.

Holiday Tree Lot 2022: COMING SOON! Opening Day will be Saturday,  November 26th!  Hours of Operation: 3-8pm Monday-Friday and 9am-8pm Saturday/Sunday.  NEW LOCATION:  11548 N Ventura Avenue Ojai, CA

Contra Dance, Community Event Series: September 24, October 23, November 19, December 18th.  6pm-9pm at Ojai Art’s Center 113 S Montgomery.  Tickets are $10 per evening. Sponsored by The Rotary Club of Ojai and the Ojai Valley Lions Club with funding from Disabled American Veterans, Ventura Chapter 24.

PAST EVENTS:

4th of July Pancake Breakfast- we served over 350 community members a wonderful pancake breakfast before the 4th of July parade. All proceeds get donated back into the community!

College Scholarship Award – $10,000 in college scholarships were awarded to Nordhoff High School scholarship program

Student Speaker Contest – Financial awards available for student speaker contest events winners

Handicap Ramp Project at local Senior Mobile Home

Owl Box Build Project – Benefit of the Ojai Raptor Center

Sound system upgrade for Nordhoff High School Football Stadium

Blood Drive and Bone Marrow Drive

Habitat for Humanity of Ventura County – OVLC help to paint a mobile home

Feed the Homeless with the Ojai Valley Family Shelter- Ojai Valley Lions Club cooks and serves a hot meal, beverage, salad, and lunch bag-  1x per month during the Ojai Valley Family Shelter’s seasonal time of operation.

Holiday Tree Lot – Our largest fundraiser of the year. All proceeds get donated back into the Ojai Community.

Libbey Playground Community Build Project

Funding provided for the James France Memorial Bench at Meiners Oaks Elementary

Braille Institute Lake Casitas Adventure- Carpinteria and Ojai Valley Lions annual trip to Lake Casitas to benefit friends/families from the Braille Institute.

Oak View Resource Center – Community Service Project

Recycle for Sight Event- Lions recycle used prescription eyeglasses and prepare them for distribution to developing countries where eye care is inaccessible or unaffordable.

Responsible Beverage Servicing Licensing – Lions Club members get licensed and learn how to serve alcohol responsibly and legally at our events.  Safety first.

Adopt A Family- Ojai Valley Lions Club provides food and holiday presents to families participating in the Adopt a Family program through Help of Ojai- Community Assistance Program.

Ojai Sheriff Explorer Program Fundraiser-

City of Hope-Recognition Day   Ojai Valley Lions Club supports the City of Hope in Los Angeles.  Ojai Valley Lions Club Members visit the City of Hope on Recognition Day April 7th and gave our support to this great foundation
